Adelphi is Europe’s leading independent “think-and-do tank” and consultancy for climate, environment, and development. It is not a typical charity-based NGO, but rather a non-profit, non-partisan organization and policy consultancy that works with governments, international organizations, NGOs, and businesses to advance sustainability.
Mission & Focus
Adelphi’s core mission is to enable transformative change and create a sustainable future by driving climate action, resource efficiency, and economic transformation. They operate as a policy consultancy grounded in transdisciplinary research, evidence-based consulting, and stakeholder dialogues to help shape policy agendas and support decision-makers.

Energy transition and green finance.
Biodiversity conservation and water governance.

Structure
The organization is primarily based in Berlin, Germany, and employs over 350 “bright minds” who work globally in various interconnected fields. It has both a consulting arm (adelphi consult) and a non-profit research arm (adelphi Research gGmbH).
